ANZAC Day 2019

Our school community was very proud of our students in their organisation and dedication towards the schools ANZAC commemorative service.  Greenmount students carry out the service as part of their History studies and every student in the year 3 to 6 class carried out an important role to ensure the service was a heartfelt commemoration to those who gave and still give so much.  This year we were very grateful to have veterans Mr Gavin Smith and Mr Joffrey Bell along with Clifton RSL President Mr Vaughn Pauli to officiate the service along side Toowoomba Regional Council Deputy mayor Mrs Carol Taylor.
This year we were fortunate to have piper Mr Doug Cutmore and bugler Mr Adam Cole to play for us and we were grateful to these gentlemen for staying with us for our music lessons, so we could learn more about these amazing instruments.
After a lovely morning tea provided by our parents and assisted by our P & C, our students settled in to spend some quality time with our veterans to learn more about their war time experiences.  Our special guests were quite emotional about our schools efforts in keeping the Anzac spirit alive and the conduct and respect shown by our students.
