Greenmount State School is dedicated to empowering students to reach their fullest potential in a safe, nurturing and family orientated atmosphere. We focus on each student as an individual and emphasise the development of skills necessary for life long learning.
The climate at our school is open, caring and based upon effective communication between students, teachers and parents. Our school operates on an Open Door Policy which encourages, invites and welcomes parents to visit the classrooms at any time and to discuss their child’s progress openly and honestly.
Greenmount State School will always be committed to achieving high learning outcomes for students by responding to student needs and by providing excellence in teaching and learning programs.
The school provides many life skills programs such as Smartmoves and SmartChoices to ensure students understand the importance of an active life style combined with a healthy diet. We regularly teach anti-bullying strategies and a school chaplain provides further support to all students, delivering specific programs for classes in the area of antibullying and positive, supportive friendships.
Greenmount prides itself on its 'Options' Program which is very popular with the students. This program allows students to work on a practical activity of their choice every year. Parents and community members are invited to run some of the activities.
A great deal has been achieved over the years at Greenmount and much of this can be attributed to the close home-school association which we have. Greenmount State School is very proud of its safe and supportive learning environment and this is embedded in our philosophy of being strong, safe and successful.
